Creative Arts

The school year is rapidly coming to a close and once again it has been a busy one within the creative arts faculty here at Uplands School. As always the choir has been busy out and about performing and with the creation of our concert choir it has given an added dimension to our performance capabilities. Local care homes, Orbital christmas market and Zurich to name a few that have witnessed out students singing their hearts out.

Unfortunately in December the annual Citifaith concert got cancelled at the last minute due to technical issues but this did not stop us celebrating Christmas within school. We put on a show over two days with our own Uplands take on The 12 Days of Christmas. It went off with great success and all who came to see it thoroughly enjoyed the show and as always the students were awesome.

Over the course of the year we have had many visiting artists and groups to work with and entertain the school students and staff. These include:

- M&M Theatre productions Christmas Panto

- Swindon Music Service Rock/Pop and Woodwind live music roadshows

- Reach Theatre group delivering drama and animation workshops

- Southampton Youth Orchestra

As we near the end of the academic year we still have two events we are busy preparing for. Firstly in July we have our Summer Cream Tea concert where the audience will be entertained by the choir, soloists and joined by Brimble Hill choir. Then at the end of term it is our annual Fun on The Farm event again with lots of live music.

As you can see once more we have had a busy exciting time over the last twelve months making music and creatve arts at Uplands School and as always thank you for all your support at our events.
