The SPOC (single point of contact) number is 01225 757985 and is available Mon-Fri 9-4.30pm for all Wiltshire students.

Sam Buddies

The ‘Buddies Outreach Group’ is group of trained adults with a learning disability. They will visit someone who has high support needs in their home, initially with a volunteer to support them. We aim to reach people who are isolated and would like to spend time with new people.

Swindon Restore is a charity shop that sells second hand goods that have been donated to them. Restore have a workshop where volunteers repair and create furniture. Restore also offers work based learning placements for the students of Uplands. They are open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm and some Saturdays. Visit them at St Johns Church Hall, Whitbourne Avenue, Swindon SN3 2LG or find them on Facebook.

Beechwood College

Beechwood College, Wales' first and only Specialist Residential College of Further Education dedicated to students over the age of 16 years with an Autism Spectrum Disorder or Asperger's Syndrome.

Parent 2 Parent Group

For parents/carers of children with ASD, Autism, Asperger Syndrome, PDD NOS or associated conditions.

Meetings are held on alternate Tuesdays from 1.15 – 2.30pm at Drove People’s Centre, Drove road, Swindon. Accompanying pre school children welcome. Car parking available opposite the centre in the county ground car park.

HelpKidzLearn is a collection of free software for young children and those with learning difficulties to play online. You will get the most out of these activities if you play them together with your child. Use them as a focus for chatting. Speaking and listening is very important for young children's educational development, particularly reading and writing.

Big Blue Surf School, Bude Cornwall

A Surf School which has been recommended to us by one of our autistic students who had a wonderful time and learnt to surf. The Surf School has specially qualified instructors who are experienced in teaching children with Autism and other special needs.
